The Southeast Wisconsin Region

The Southeast Wisconsin Region has 99,519 Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members in 18 Thrivent chapters. These chapters are part of more than 1,300 geographic groups of Thrivent Financial members who join together to have fun, learn and make a difference through social, educational and volunteer activities.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a faith-based, not-for-profit financial services organization nearly 2.5 million members strong. As a fraternal benefit society, Thrivent Financial works with and through our members to support their communities, congregations and individuals in need through volunteer activities and gifting programs.


Helping Communities and Congregations

Chapter Activities

From holding a community-wide auction to raise funds for a child with cancer, to building a handicap-accessible play area at a local park, our members make a difference every day through our chapter system.
  • 1,168 activities were conducted by Thrivent chapters in the Southeast Wisconsin Region, resulting in 469,769 volunteer hours.
  • Funds raised by local teams totaled $2,552,257, which were combined with $725,000 from Thrivent Financial to multiply the good we can do together.

Thrivent ChoiceSMProgram

In 2010, Thrivent members recommended where Thrivent Financial for Lutherans distributed $11 million of its charitable outreach funds through the new Thrivent ChoiceSM charitable grant program. Thrivent Choice has two components. Through the Choice DollarsSM part of Thrivent Choice, eligible members recommended how to distribute $10 million to more than 16,000 Lutheran congregations and organizations. Through the Voting part of Thrivent Choice, members voted to determine how 10 national charities would share $1 million.
  • In the Southeast Wisconsin Region, 552 Lutheran organizations and congregations received $423,206 in Choice Dollars charitable grant funds.

Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity

Working in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans contributed $383,175 to support Thrivent Builds Homes projects in the Southeast Wisconsin Region. Our members raised an additional $33,586 and committed 14,186 volunteer hours to help build 6 homes. Thrivent Financial also supported almost 1,000 members from across the country who participated in a total of 98 Thrivent Builds Worldwide trips by providing approximately $785,000 in support of the national Habitat offices hosting the international teams.

Support from the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and its subsidiaries contribute to the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation, which awarded more than 230 grants totaling $9.1 million in 2010 to support the Lutheran community and Thrivent Financial's corporate communities. In addition, the Foundation matched more than 16,000 employee contributions with grants totaling $5.8 million.
