How can your chapter help make the Do One Thing Different campaign a success?
What one thing could you do to improve your financial life? Could you:
Use coupons to save on groceries?
Make lunch at home to bring to work?
Teach your kids about the value of money?
Make an effort to draft a will?
Attend a financial education workshop to learn more about retirement or estate planning?
We are excited to share that beginning this coming April ¿ which is Financial Literacy Month ¿ Thrivent Financial members, their networks, and others will come together to Do One Thing Different through a special awareness campaign. If everyone can take just one step toward improving their financial lives, it can help build momentum to improve the lives of families and communities across the country. Once individuals commit to taking one first simple step¿they¿re bound to do more, and the energy and support will continue to build.
Thrivent Financial is providing resources and ideas to help make it easy to take the first step. And we need your help!
What can you do now?
1. Keep in the loop! In the next few months, watch for more information, tools and resources you can use to help promote Do One Thing Different.
2. Share your ideas with us! Thrivent members are already generating fantastic ideas for one thing they will pledge to do differently. Use the Lutherans Online Do One Thing Different message board to share your chapter¿s creative ideas.
3. Spread the word about workshops and events! As you create chapter plans for 2011, work with your FR advisor to plan relevant financial education workshops and other events in your community. The awareness campaign will highlight the new Find Events & Workshops page on Thrivent.com. To help members and others to find and attend YOUR events, register your events online by March 15.
THANK YOU! We appreciate all of the time and planning from Thrivent chapters around the country to promote and participate in the Do One Thing Different campaign.
We could invite Thrivent to our church to do a Money Matters program for each of our age brackets represented there, teaching them how to save some, spend some, give some away, all about tithing, etc.....oh wait!
We already did that several times and they don't return my calls. Nevermind, I threw all the propaganda away after waiting all summer.

I'm sorry you have had that experience with Thrivent, requesting a workshop that did not occur with no contact from anyone. I have no idea where you are located or who you contacted, but I would like an opportunity to help you connect with someone in your area or help you get an event scheduled for a variety of age groups. We do have workshops for kids and families. You may contact me directly at 612-844-7237 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
