I am new to the site and just looking to chat with some eligible men. I live in Oregon and spend alot of time being a home body. Spend alot of time on the computer playing games.. Sure would be nice to chat to someone other then my daughter. God Bless
Hi Don the Norski,
What does that mean" Don the Norski" That is a new phrase to me. I live on the South Coast of Oregon. 75 miles from the Interstate 5. I am new to this site and not sure how to act or say. So that will be enough for now. Ocean Lady
Its a moniker that only those with Norse heritage can claim. I'm 3/4 Norwegian and 1/4 Swedish, depending upon where the border was that particular day.
Sooo, are you in lily-land, near some rogue of a stream, or closer to (I'd LOVE to see a name like this!) the Coos-Coos Restaurant? Then again, I suppose you could be dining fish and chips at the Crazy Norwegian? Or, have you aBandoned your golf game?
Hi Don the Norski,
This is Oceanlady and I get the jokes about the south coast okay. I drive 42S to Bandon all the time, This is in reference to the email I got at email@example.com dated Sat. June 3, 2006. Plastic canvas is like needle point except it is on plastic material instead of cloth. It has square holes in it and instead of embroidery floss you use yarn. My girlfriend showed me how to do it years ago and I have enjoyed it since. The state park in Charleston is called Shore Acres and it is still beautiful everytime we go, it just keep getting better every year. My daughter and I have not been back to Gold and Silver falls in along time, the first time we went she was just a baby. I hope that we can get there again some day. I am familar with Norway because I pass it everytime I go to Coquille. Still very small town but cool. There is a place out there called Picture Valley and it's beautiful. So I have lived here 12 years with my daughter and husband until he passed away in Feb this year. We have loved it here in Myrtle Point for the last 2 years before that we lived in North Bend. Would not go back the the big town for anything. Yes I know it seems a short time since my husband has passed away but I am finding myself being lonely for companionship of another adult. I love my daughter very much and she is my motivator to get up and move forward. Today we we confirmed in our church and it was something I will never forget. Right now I am inbetween jobs but looking as much as Myrtle Point has to offer don't want to drive 52 miles round-trip for a job. If you would like to continue chatting a different way through email or something outside of this site let me know and we will work something out. I am new to this sort of thing, because I met my late husband at the job I was working at in Tucson AZ and we hit it off right away. Right now I am just looking to make friends and see what happens from there. I don't smoke, drink, or have any bad habits. I am a good listener and have a tendence to talk alittle too long. Have a great rest of the weekend and hopefully we will chat again. OceanLady.
Hello Don the Norski, This is OceanLady and I thought I would post a message to see if all is good with you and your family. I left you along reply and haven't seen anything back. Did I write too much. Almost like when I talk. Please reply when you have time. Would like to hear from you again. OceanLady
Hi there Artbarb here! I am not from where you are, but, in East Tennesee, near Knoxville. However, I did take a look at ole Don the Norski's profile and picture and he looks very nice, a good looking guy! Yes, Don you do, and to Oceanlady look up his profile and you will see what I mean!! Who knows, we may have a guy to Lutheran gal yet!! Good luck to us all, and, God bless!
Hi ArtBarb, This is OceanLady. How are you seeing a picture of Don the Norski because when I go to his profile I am only getting his messages no profile or picture. Let me know what the secret is. Thanks OceanLady
LO made some changes a year ( or two?) ago, that resulted in some of us having two profiles.
One here - as a message board participant. If you click on someone's user name, you'll see their "posting" profile.
The other is not related to the message boards. Go back to the LO homepage (or any other page with the list across the top (Chat, Classified Ads, etc.). To the right you'll see a "Singles Seeking" label. Click on that and then do a search for "don the norski". You'll find his "other" profile ~ including picture.
The biggest problem with this is that some people have one name for posting under and another for the singles seeking section. I know 'cuz I've tried to find a couple profiles to find more out about a poster, only to find nothing.
That is not okay, I would still like to chat with you even though you don't live in Oregon. I have forgotten where you live? I have no memory sometimes, I am that person that writes stuff down and then forgets where she put it. Please lets continue to talk but at our email address. So let me know how we are to do that and we can talk all the time. Hope to talk to you soon OceanLady
I know the feeling. I am pretty new to this whole internet thing. It is hard not to have someone (an adult) to visit with--seems like the added duties of a single parent (widowed with 2 kids) does not allow a lot of time to visit but I am willing to try. My sister-in-laws live in the Portland area--we have visited a couple times and went to the coast. Lincoln City and Astoria--beautiful area. Well it is two hours later hear in the Midwest--so better go rest for another day. God Bless you and comfort you.
I'm wondering if , as your screen name if sdsu76, are you from SD... Our state university is called that. South Dakota State Univ....... Just curios. I'm not a man, just a gal wondering if you are from SD/
Hi sdsu76 It was nice to see you reply to my message. I need to know if you are Male or Female. As you can see I am looking for a friend to start. I am so new at this kind of thing that I am not sure how to go about it. Being on the internet you don't want to say too much. So where are you? I am on the South Coast of Oregon. I have a daugher, and since the loss of her dad and my husband it has just been us.
I am a 51 year old male who lives in SE South Dakota. A long way from the Oregon coast. I lost my wife to cancer last fall. I am new to this whole internet concept. I have two (actually I have 3 but one is in the military) children who keep me very busy. Thank God for these blessings. I do miss the adult conversation and interaction. I have been in the chat room but has been pretty light conversation--hope I do not offend anyone by stating that. I have not spent a lot of time there either as trying to keep up with work schedule and home schedule does not allow a lot of free time. School is out here now so maybe things will settle down. So maybe we can continue to converse?
Hello OceanLady. So tell me about Myrtle Beach. Is that south of Lincoln City? Can't think of the town's name that has the great clam chowder that is south of Lincoln City. I think there is also an aquarium there that we visited. Guess there is a lot of places that serve good chowder on the coast. How is your weekend going? Been busy here--we had a fundraiser (golf event) last night and today. Feel like I have neglected the kids--have not seen much of them--kinda feel like a bad Dad. I think they both wanted me to participate--probably realize I need a break also. How old is your daughter? I sometimes wonder if other more experienced widowed/divorced parents could share some of their "tips" or suggestions that they have learned as a single parent. That is probably a whole new thread or subject matter. Probably rambling at this point, to much sunshine today wore me out--I have to "elder" at church in the AM and my son has to acolyte so probably should call it a day. God Bless you and your daughter.
It's not Myrtle Beach it's Myrtle Point. Yes south of Lincoln City by along way. We are closer to the bottom of the state. If you know where Roseburg is, we are 75 miles from there. Oregonians call it the south coast of Oregon. Maybe the town is called Florence. There are alot of places that sell great clam chowder. Yes the aquarium is in Newport and yes there is a clam chowder place there too. It went well, my daughter and I were confirmed in our church today Sunday and it was amazing. Before my husband passed away he wanted us to get confirmed and today we know that he was watching with God and being proud of us. My daughter is 11 going on 18. She is great but has her times just like all of us. At this sad time in our lives she is my motivator, she and my church and faith in God is what keeps be going. You are not rambling. I am the one that talks too much. It was nice chatting with you and if you would like we can chat on IM through Yahoo.com if you have it and if not we can chat through email. You make the first move with the email address and then I will give you mine. God bless you and your children too. Have a great rest of the weekend. We will chat again hopefully. Oceanlady.
Sorry about the time lapse--just has been one of those weeks. God's blessings on your confirmation's. Your daughter I presume is 5th or 6th grade? We usually confirm at 8th grade in the Midwest--must be our conservative nature--some LCMS churches here confirm earlier but it is the exception and not the rule. If you would like you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org Back to work--may the Lord continue to give you and your daughter strength.
Hello sdsu76, This is OceanLady and I would like to chat with you. I hope that you get time to take a breath. I know from experience that if a person works so much it is not good for them in the end. Just a little bit of advice. Thanks so much for the strength. God bless you too. OceanLady. I will email you 6/9/06
