If you're looking for a great stocking stuffer or a nice gift for the grandparents, then the new compilation CD "Lutheran Summer Music: Selections from 2009" just might be it. This features top selections from the 2009 LSM Academy with performances by both the professional faculty and the inspiring students.
The CD begins with "Luther's Morning Blessing" written in 2009 by well-known composer Carl Schalk for LSM (it's well worth listening to here; what do you think?). Track listings also include the full "Petite Suite" by Claude Debussy, performed by LSM 2009 piano faculty and Luther College faculty Du Huang and Xiao Hu; "Nun Komm, der Heiden Heiland," one of Bach's Cantatas; and the "Finale" to Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 4." There's something on this CD for everyone!
