The biggest thing wrong with it is that we have no clue who produced it and whether it is accurate or not.

Here's a link that may verify how accurate it is and it gives the source.

Very interesting. And not surprising. Many of their Board of Directors are top union officials. It doesn't look like there's a Republican in the entire bunch.

True. But they didn't make up their data -- it all came from government and industry sources.

In fact, they tell you exactly how they came up with the figures:

http://www.epi.org/publication/wp293-ceo-to-worker-pay-methodology/

So, do you have anything to say about the data itself? Or is just calling them "union" enough for you to disregard it?

this really has nothing to do with this issue of high pay for the ceo, but it came to mind when reading this thread. facts? why let them get in the way?

thought the article was good.

if you don't like the facts - make up something. in this case, if you don't like the facts, bad mouth the messengers.

Yes, I've looked at some but am not really into the debate that much. I see it as "to whom much is given" etc.. and think "trickle down" "supply side" was one of the greatest follies perpetrated.

The huge amount given To CEO's are considered a business expense, therefore deductible.

You know, Smiley, I think you have the best answer.

I factchecked this graph after I posted it. Turns out the graph came from unresourced paper by an undergraduate in Louisiana. But people had already responded to it, so I could not delete it. Actual disparity is around 200 to 1, which is still unheard of.

The gab between the rich and poor is growing. The rich gets richer and the poor becomes poorer.
